Shoe Sculptures on Display at Shoe Carnival Headquarters

shoe_carnival
Without a doubt, women love shoes. However, who is to say whether women would love the shoes being displayed in the Shoe Carnival Corporate Headquarters lobby. There, artist John McNaighton produced gigantic shoe sculptures made of wood. Exhibited at the headquarters in Indiana, the shoes are approximately six feet long, two feet wide, and weigh at least 100 pounds. One shoe took over 100 hours, over three months, to manufacture.

"Shoe Art" is not only popular in Indiana, but exhibits are on the East and West Coasts of the U.S. There is also a gigantic sculpture of a women's shoe, made from 300 shoes, in Paris. That particular sculpture took over three years to create.

MBT Shoes - Correcting Posture and Toning Legs

mbt_shoesCan a shoe really change your posture, cure back pain, and tone muscles? One brand claims to do all of the above. Maybe they are the fitness answer we have all been waiting for!

A Swiss Engineer believes he has invented a shoe that will change fitness as we know it; yet, these shoes are not exactly the fashion statement people would choose to make. They have thick soles and broad straps, looking like shoes that might correct a foot problem. In addition, these shoes seem to make legs look short and stumpy. Nevertheless, MBT Shoes can be credited for doing everything from removing cellulite to correcting bad posture.

Though you may not have seen this brand in stores, make no mistake, the MBT brand is in 20+ countries around the world. MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) sells 1 million pairs every year.

New Balance Shoes Given to Chernobyl Victims

new_blance_shoes
Few remember the horrific nuclear power plant accident that happened over twenty years ago in Chernobyl. Those who lived near the nuclear power plant are still feeling the effects. A shoe store in Raleigh, North Carolina, remembers and is attempting to help its victims. Approximately 20 children from Belarus are visiting North Carolina this month. During their stay, they are accepting shoes, clothing, and medical care. All of which, are being given by a church and New Balance. Those who organized this event believe the medical care these children will receive could increase their life expectancy by six years. The New Balance shoes the children take home, will most likely be the only new shoes these children ever receive.

Customers Stay Loyal to SAS Shoes

SAS_shoes
Bair Shoes, located in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, will be closing its doors after over 50 years or excellent customer service in the retail sector. Gloria, and husband Russ, began selling shoes after selling produce at a fruit and vegetable stand on Main Street. Gloria mentioned selling shoes and the two decided to fuse their love for veggies with their love for shoes. It was normal for people to leave their store with a pair of shoes in one hand and a sack of vegetables in the other.

In the 1970's the two closed their store on Main Street and moved to a more spacious location. SAS shoes were their most popular brand. SAS, standing for San Antonio Shoes, was introduced to the couple thanks to a SAS representative. Russ and Gloria were not quick to agree to purchase this brand. The began with 24 pairs that were sold without a problem. Customers remarked how the shoes were comfortable, reliable, and stylish. Though Bair Shoes is closing, Bair Shoes customers are loyal to the SAS brand.
