Dansko Shoes Have a History of Unparalleled Comfort

Dansko shoes started with the discovery of a uniquely designed Danish clog that was discovered by Dansko founders Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup in an unassuming store in Denmark during the 1980's. Mandy and Peter were then professional horse trainers and they absolutely flipped out about finding what they thought was the perfect barn shoe.

Mandy and Peter knew that the shoes they had found were extremely comfortable and tough, but also attractive enough to wear around town as well. Since their discovery, they were the only shoes Peter and Mandy wore. The pair secured the rights to the clogs from Denmark, and thus began Dansko, Inc. in 1991. Innovative new designs were developed for the shoes, entire collections created, and word began to spread about these incredible shoes. Dansko shoes are now distributed in more than 3500 retail locations.
